The Agriturismo Etna Wine is located in the hills in the town of Castiglione di Sicilia at the beginning of the Etna Park.

The estate extends over 10 hectares of land planted with vineyards and produces three great ETNA ROSSO DOC wines. And a white. Inside the property there is a small village with a large Noble Villa from the end of the 19th century, intact as it was in its time, and three old renovated buildings used as accommodation. Adjacent to the Villa there is an ancient millstone with a press and in the underlying part a cellar with large oak barrels still used today.

Next to it, the cellar in the courtyard overlooks the entrance to an important Historical Museum of the ancient peasant civilization.

Inside, in various rooms there are tools and work systems of the past for the production of oil and wine. One of the rooms is equipped and used to host educational activities.

The rooms exhibit many artifacts, some are still in use.

The farmhouse is completed by a large parking area for guests, a restaurant, a splendid swimming pool and a parking area equipped for campers.

The Etna Wine Farmhouse obtained in 2009 the certification to be a "Didactic Company."

The recognition arrived on April 1, 2009 with N * 16 accreditation with Decr. Director No. 576.

For us it is a pleasure and a mission to carry out an educational activity to make known and pass on the ancient methods of the harvest and how the grape juice becomes must and then wine.

Today sophisticated machines allow in a short time to transform grapes into must.

In the past, however, all this was a ritual and was done manually, the harvested grapes were brought into a millstone made of stone and pressed with the feet, the juice was collected in underlying stone tanks and from here the must then carried into the barrels for fermentation.

The teaching activity is mainly aimed at schools for young and old children, private and public bodies and all those who request it.

Autumn with the harvest is naturally a great attraction for our business.

Guests can actively participate with us in the grape harvest in the vineyard and in all the processing phases in the millstone.

The didactic activity is completed with a visit to the museum, the cellars and the structure.
